Episode 11 - "The Lawn"

Shortly after settlement Greg called me (yes, the same Greg as the last two episodes). He LOVES the house. But, you see, Greg had always been a city boy. He didn't know what it was really like to live in the country. Poor thing used a push mower to mow his three acres of open space. He said it was the most painful thing he had ever done. After my laughter subsided (yes, I really did laugh out loud while we were on the phone), I mentioned to him that he didn't need to mow all of the lawn. When you live in the middle of nowhere, you can let it grow and let the forest take over. "Really?" More laughter on my end. Yes, Greg, no one is going down your private lane (with no trespassing signs) to find your house that backs up to state park land to make sure that you mow your grass. In fact, no one really knows where your land ends and the park begins. Greg did have the land surveyed so he does know exactly where his land ends and the park begins.
