Episode 9 - "The Failed Septic"

Greg loved the Marriottsville area. Just like his father, he loves to be out in the woods. He wanted to walk to the water shed state park and go hiking whenever he wanted. We found a great house, the water shed was across the street! Home inspection was going ok, what?! What's that florescent green stuff running down the front yard?! The septic has failed. The market was really hot at the time and Greg wasn't sure he wanted to have a home inspection. Make sure your agent explains everything thoroughly before you make a decision about having any inspections. No, Greg didn't buy this house.

  1. Great story Joan, to make a very important point. A home inspection is so important from a brokerage standpoint, that if one of our clients opts not to do a home inspection, they have to sign a waiver holding harmless and indemnifying our agent and brokerage for any loss deemed to be resulting from not having a home inspection. This waiver is in addition to the language already in our state contract. Great point for any buyer's contemplating a purchase.
